” Every summer, my husband’s huge family (70+ people) meet in York, Maine for a week-long vacation. Each family rents their own house and we meet at the beach every morning. Daily life includes beach volleyball, boogie-boarding, sand castles, and sparklers at sunset. It’s my favorite time of year – a time where I truly unplug and soak in the sun and surf. Taking only my film camera allows me to slow down, be in the moment, and come away with cherished images. I had a particularly crazy year, so this vacation was perfection. I love capturing the little details that when combined, create a sense of place. As I was downloading the scans a few weeks after, I was overjoyed and felt like I was back on the beach or meandering through the old colonial neighborhoods again. ” – Sarah
