Every winter I make my annual pilgrimage from blustery New England to the beautiful California coast, and every year I try to check another stunning sight off of my travel bucket list. This year, California’s northern coast was the destination of choice, and I certainly left a piece of my heart there. Growing up and living my entire life quite literally clear across the country, I find myself enamored with the pink terra cotta, the old adobe, the soft golden light and the sweet warmth that California offers. The architecture is so vastly different from my own coast’s, that I find myself trying to capture every detail, every doorway, every fractal-cactus and succulent this beautiful state has to offer. ” – Joanna
